Mothers Day 2011

Mom,

The way I feel I cannot explain, the gratitude I have for all the days and nights you spent right by my side. I love you for all the hugs & kisses, always putting me to bed, loving me through the hurt & holding on to me so tight. I love you for never letting go of the hope you hold for my life and for always keeping me close to your heart. Believe it or not, I love you for yelling at me when I was out of place, for telling me the truth, forgiving me for the things I’ve said and done that hurt.
When the whole world is against me, I can turn to you and you are always there with open arms, ready to catch me when I fall, ready to wipe my tears away, and ready to cheer me up. You understand me more than anyone else (well…most of the time anyway). You are simple, yet wise and I love you for the fact that you love me. You have always showed your love through everything you do. Love is not about money, but feelings and you have showed me that.

You are my hero Mom, through the good and bad days of our lives. You are strong and showed me how to be a survivor, to have great vision and hope. I am so grateful for the friendship that has blossomed between us as I grow older. Having you for a mother makes me want to be a better person.

Love you Mom, Happy Mother’s Day!

Grandma,

I was thinking of you today and a smile tickled my face. Your love knows no bounds; a room takes special warmth whenever you’re around. Every day with you is precious and I’m so grateful for the time. I remember the goodness you instilled in me though it doesn’t always show, but you should know that you played a very special part in my life. Your smile can light up a room and your presence is of grace. Your touch is gentle, your heart is as big as the moon, and your spirit is kindhearted. You made baby clothes and quilts for all of my babies and taught me to always work hard-no ifs, ands, or buts’. Of all the grandparents in the world, I am ever so thankful that you’re mine, and most of all I love you. A love that always stays.. stays inside my memory and is often on my mind because a woman like you Grandma is so rare and hard to find.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Love,
Denyse

In loving memory of Grandma Rieck, thinking of you today and always.
